Two of BIG’s staff were awarded OBEs in the New Year’s honours list: Northern Ireland director Walter Rader for services to the community in NI, and Melloney Poole, head of legal services, for public service.

Across Scotland 125 projects are sharing £118,257 from our 2014 Communities programme which will build a legacy from the 2014 Commonwealth Games up and down the country.

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded over £10.2 million to 37 groups through its Reaching Communities programme, including a country-wide initiative to provide music therapy to older people.

Village SOS has narrowed down its search for the six successful enterprises. It has shortlisted 28 projects to be paired with Village Champions.
